Influenced by the life story of the first Indian woman to fly in space, this painting by artist Animesh Sharma describes the problems Kalpana Chawla had to go through to become a renowned astronaut. The restrictions that women face is something that has caught the concern of artist Animesh. The red blindfold, scissors in the girl’s hand and the attire of an astronaut are the used as the elements of indication of the struggles and success of Kalpana Chawla.
